Syglino Manis in Slices
This is one of the most traditional Greek cold cuts, made with a unique production method. Sygklino is traditionally prepared in Monemvasia, Mani, from carefully selected cuts of 100% Greek pork. After being cut into large pieces, it is marinated with cinnamon, cloves, oregano, allspice, peppers, garlic, and coarsely chopped onions, and then slowly cured. The traditional smoking process is at the heart of the production of the famous Andromidas smoked cold cuts.
Sygklino Manis, with its rich smoky flavor and aromas, is an excellent appetizer for many occasions. Serve it sliced thin, gently warmed in a pan to bring out its aromas, and pair it with bread or rusks. Add it to omelets or scrambled eggs for traditional flavors, or incorporate it into pasta dishes with vegetables for a rich taste. It pairs wonderfully with tsipouro, ouzo, or red wines with a spicy character for a complete culinary experience.
